Stand Up Paddle Boarding or SUP originated in Hawaii. It is a variation of surfing. It uses large, very buoyant boards and long light-weight paddles. You stand on the board and use the paddle to propel yourself.  Because the boards are so buoyant and stable it makes the sport incredibly easy to learn. No matter what age or how physically active you are there is something in this sport for you. Lessons take place in the canal on the Killaloe side of the bridge. Lessons start from the car park below the farmers market and you will then make your way along the length of the canal from bottom to top, learning all the skills as you go.
