Clonlara
Ideally situated close to the majestic River Shannon in East Clare, Clonlara offers an excellent holiday base, being only 5km (3ml) from Limerick City and 12km (7.5ml) from picturesque Killaloe on the southern tip of Lough Derg. It is also located on the canel linking Limerick with Killaloe on the Shannon.
You can avail of fine golfing and equestrian facilities in the Clonlara area. The Clonlara Golf & Leisure Club is a beautiful 18-hole parkland course overlooked by the hills of Clare beside the banks of the river. Facilities include self catering apartments, bar and bar food, tennis court, sauna, games room, anglers bait and stock room, and a children’s play area.
The Clonlara Equestrian Centre nearby houses an international size indoor and outdoor arena. It offers trekking, trial riding and a cross country course, as well as tuition at all levels.
