Hi, my name's Dergie and i'm here to help you have a great holiday on Lough Derg, in Ireland's Shannon Region.
There are so many different equestrian sports from tuition to treking that Lough Derg has something for everyone!
In this section, i've listed the different equestrian providers, and their details.
Regards Dergie
With its magnificent lakeside setting and ever-changing landscape, the countryside around beautiful Lough Derg offers great scope for lovers of horse riding and all things equestrian. The area has so many linkages to the equestrian markets with Co Tipperary famous for its house racing trainers and Limerick for its hunting
There are various organised trails that will take you through some spectacular countryside in the surrounding counties.
Many fine equestrian centres offer extensive facilities and tuition as well, to suit both beginner and experienced rider.
A notable feature is how they use the beautiful natural landscape for unique and varied treks and hacks – through forests such as Portumna, across parks and among some of the most beautiful scenery and diverse wildlife found anywhere.
• Residential and non-residential centres offering a complete riding holiday experience
• Trail riding using a variety of accommodation
• based trails using fixed accommodation
• Extended stays
• Short breaks
• Daily treks
The geography of Lough Derg lends itself to exploration on horseback. Mountain trails, forest paths, country lanes, magnificent lake shore views… it all adds up to a very special location in which to take to the saddle!
