Skydiving

Just imagine the thrill and the breathtaking experience!

Freefalling through the sky at 200km (124ml)  per hour… flying like a bird as you experience a sense of bliss and wonder… getting a ‘bird’s eye’ view of the spectacular scenery around Lough Derg, the largest lake on the River Shannon and impressive mountain ranges.

It’s all possible on a visit to Lough Derg – just check out  Skydive Ireland based in Nenagh, County Tipperary.

Skydive Ireland offers two types of skydiving experience. You can do a Tandem Skydive with a qualified Tandem Master or take a Solo Dive following detailed instruction at the centre, in both cases.

On your way to do the Tandem dive, you will travel over the wonderful sights of the lake and the Silvermines and Keeper Hill mountains for about 20 minutes. After exiting the aircraft at 3,050m (10,000 ft) in the company of the vastly experienced instructor, you will accelerate to a speed of about 200km per hour in an amazing 25 second fall.

Then, at approximately 5,000ft (1,525m), the Tandem Master deploys the main parachute and gives you an opportunity to steer the parachute for about 4-5 minutes!

For the Solo Dive, the Nenagh centre operates special preparatory courses before you are given the chance to ext the aircraft from an altitude of 3,500ft (1070m). A Jump Master is with you in the aircraft to ensure your safety and ensure you exit in the correct position over the dropzone
