Birdhill
A base in or near Birdhill, Co. Tipperary offers an ideal launching pad for a holiday stay in the Lough Derg area. Birdhill has been awarded the accolade of Irelands tidest village for 2007.
Located on the main N7 Dublin to Limerick road, the pretty village makes for an attractive setting. The famous ‘Matt the Thresher’ Pub, with good food, is in the heart of the village.
Those interested in equestrian sports will find much to do at Mulcahy’s Pony Stables near the village which specialize in tuition for children of all ages. Pony rides, riding lessons and a mini pony camp every Saturday all year-round are other features.
Conveniently located near the popular lakeside resort of Killaloe/Ballina on the southern shores of Lough Derg, Birdhill is also within easy reach of Limerick City and Nenagh.
