Nenagh Heritage Centre, Nenagh

This Heritage Centre has a unique background. Originally a gaol complex, it was later used as a convent and a school before its current transformation into an inspiring heritage centre.

The Centre includes recreated aspects of its history and provides an insight into times past. On your visit, you'll discover:
*A model of the gaol and stories relating to the condemmed cells, the execution area and the tale of the Cormack Brothers.
*A full recreation of a school room, a draper’s shop, pub and grocery shop.
*A recreated dairy – butter-making and a 'hands-on' exhibition.
*A museum of rural life: furniture, utensils and farm implements.
*A kitchen: the original kitchen with unique oven.
*A Gallery, with changing displays of arts, crafts and photographs.
*Ancestral Research: a service for people who want to trace their ancestors from the area.
