Limerick City Gallery of Art

Limerick City Gallery of Art houses a fine Permanent Collection. This Collection, started in 1936, continues to grow. This collection features the development of modern Irish art in painting, sculpture, drawing, photography and new media.

Among the many popular features of the Permanent Collection are works by well-known Irish artists including Paul Henry, Sean Keating, Jack B. Yeats and Dorothy Cross.

The Gallery also holds the National Collection of Contemporary Drawing, which contains a lively and diverse range of works that challenge and expand the concepts of drawing.

Limerick City Gallery of Art's contemporary exhibition programme is among the best in Ireland. A wide range of artworks and projects by local, national and international artists are presented by the Gallery. This programme features works in many different media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, installation and new media.

Each year, Limerick City Gallery of Art hosts the ev+a exhibition, Ireland's leading annual exhibition of contemporary art. A renowned international curator selects from an open submission to curate the exhibition, which is displayed throughout Limerick City
