The award-winning Bishops' Palace is adjacent to King's John's Castle, in the Mediaeval Precinct of Limerick City.
It’s the restored home of former Protestant Bishops of Limerick who resided there until 1784. It’s regarded as the oldest standing domestic building in the city’s ‘English Town’ district and dates back to the 17th century. The Palace has a classical facade and is related to the English Palladian style.
The house is now home to Limerick Civic Trust and it has won numerous awards, including ‘The best old building in Ireland’ award in 2005.
