Pretty villages and towns full of atmosphere are scattered throughout the area. The twin heritage towns of Killaloe/Ballina on the southern tip of the lake, Terryglass and Garrykennedy famed for their beauty and music in North Tipperary, the fine marina towns of Portumna in Galway and Banagher in Offaly, the famous fishing village of Castleconnell in Limerick as well as the lovely lakeside settings of Mountshannon and Whitegate in East Clare…these are just a very small sample of the treats in store.
